How it works

1. Activate Tolarian Academy by tapping it, adding at least .
2. Cast Ghostly Flicker by paying , targeting Tolarian Academy and Izzet Chronarch, blinking them.
3. When Izzet Chronarch enters the battlefield, return Ghostly Flicker to you hand.
4. Repeat.

This Vintage combo turns Tolarian Academy into a bottomless well of blue mana by exploiting the discount provided by Arcane Melee. You cast Ghostly Flicker targeting the Academy alongside Izzet Chronarch, and because the spell's cost is heavily reduced, the mana generated by the Academy easily covers the casting expense. When the Chronarch re-enters the battlefield, it immediately plucks the Flicker right back out of your graveyard, setting up a closed loop that generates infinite mana, enters-the-battlefield triggers, and storm count.
