How it works

1. Activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing Young Wolf
2. When Young Wolf dies, its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
3. Resolve the Umbral Collar Zealot ability.
4. Activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing Young Wolf
5. When Young Wolf dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
6. Young Wolf enters and dies as a state-based action due to having 0 toughness. Its undying ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
7. Resolve the Umbral Collar Zealot ability from step 4.
8. Repeat from step 4.

This loop relies on Isilu, Carrier of Twilight's passive anthem granting persist to all your other nontoken creatures, combining with Young Wolf’s native undying ability to create a counter-canceling paradox. By sacrificing Young Wolf to Umbral Collar Zealot, you trigger whichever ability applies based on its current counter state, allowing the wolf to repeatedly return to the battlefield and die.
