How it works

1. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing Shield Sphere.
2. Cast Shield Sphere from your graveyard by paying 0. It will not enter with a finality counter on it due to Solemnity.
3. Repeat.

This clever recycling loop turns the humble Shield Sphere into a zero-mana engine for infinite red mana and triggers. The magic begins with Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, whose static ability lets you freely cast 1-power or toughness creatures directly from your graveyard on your turn. You simply sacrifice Shield Sphere to Thermopod for red mana, then recast it right back out of the graveyard. Ordinarily, Leonardo, Sewer Samurai would saddle Shield Sphere with a finality counter, but Solemnity acts as the ultimate prophylactic, completely shutting down counters so the Sphere enters the battlefield pristine and ready to be sacrificed all over again.
