How it works

1. Cause an artifact to enter the battlefield under your control.
2. Ingenious Artillerist triggers, dealing 1 damage to each opponent.
3. Malcolm triggers, as Ingenious Artillerist is a Pirate due to Leyline of Transformation, creating a Treasure token for each opponent dealt damage this way.
4. When the Treasure(s) enter, Ingenious Artillerist triggers that many times.
5. Resolve the first Ingenious Artillerist trigger, dealing 1 damage to each opponent.
6. Repeat from step 3.

This loop turns a single artifact entering the battlefield into a devastating, self-sustaining cascade of damage and treasure. Leyline of Transformation does the foundational heavy lifting here, silently rewriting creature types so that Ingenious Artillerist counts as a Pirate alongside its normal identity. Because of this type shift, the burn from Ingenious Artillerist causes Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator to trigger whenever it hits opponents, minting a fresh batch of Treasure tokens. Those very same Treasures entering the battlefield then trigger Ingenious Artillerist all over again, creating a closed loop that generates infinite mana, infinite artifact triggers, and infinite damage to close out the game.
