How it works

  1. Play a land. When the land enters, Retreat to Emeria triggers, creating a 1/1 Kor Ally creature token.
  2. When the Kor Ally enters, Haru triggers, earthbending a land you control.
  3. Cast Chain of Vapor by paying U mana, causing you to return any nonland permanent you control except Haru or Retreat to Emeria from the battlefield to your hand, and then sacrifice an earthbent land to copy Chain of Vapor targeting another applicable permanent you control.
  4. The earthbent land triggers, returning itself from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
  5. When the land enters, Retreat to Emeria triggers, creating a 1/1 Kor Ally creature token.
  6. When the Kor Ally enters, Haru triggers, earthbending a land you control.
  7. Resolve Chain of Vapor, causing you to return the targeted permanent from the battlefield to your hand, and then sacrifice an earthbent land to copy Chain of Vapor targeting another applicable permanent you control.
  8. Repeat from step 4.

This clever loop transforms simple landfall triggers into a self-sustaining engine by weaponizing the unique recursion of animated lands. With Retreat to Emeria providing a steady stream of Kor Ally tokens every time a land enters, Haru, Hidden Talent steps in to earthbend those lands into resilient creatures that safely return to the battlefield whenever they die or are exiled. You can then target your own permanents with Chain of Vapor, sacrificing those earthbent land-creatures to copy the spell and continually restart the entire sequence.
