How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Iridescent Drake.
2. When Iridescent Drake dies, Unhallowed Pact triggers, returning Iridescent Drake from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. When Iridescent Drake enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Unhallowed Pact from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to Iridescent Drake.
4. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability from step 1, causing target player to mill cards equal to Iridescent Drake's power.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop creates an unstoppable cycle of self-sustaining reincarnation by exploiting the recursive loop between Iridescent Drake and Unhallowed Pact. Whenever you sacrifice Iridescent Drake to Altar of Dementia, Unhallowed Pact's trigger pulls the Drake right back from the grave, and the returning Drake's own triggered ability immediately fetches Unhallowed Pact back out of the graveyard to reattach itself. Because the sacrifice mill is paid upfront while the triggers sort themselves out, Altar of Dementia happily chips away at your opponent's library with every iteration until it's entirely gone.
