How it works

1. Cast Strength of Will by paying 1, targeting Walking Ballista.
2. Activate Walking Ballista by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, dealing 1 damage to it.
3. Walking Ballista triggers, putting two +1/+1 counters on it due to Doc Samson.
4. Activate Walking Ballista by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, dealing 1 damage to any target.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This elegant loop turns Walking Ballista into a self-sustaining engine by capitalizing on replacement effects. Once Strength of Will grants the Ballista indestructible and a damage-scaling growth trigger, pinging the creature with its own ability normally trades one counter for one damage—but Doc Samson, Super Psychiatrist supercharges every counter-adding event by tacking on an extra +1/+1 counter. This creates a net gain of counters with each iteration, allowing you to feed the loop infinitely, grow the Ballista to astronomical power, and spray infinite damage across any targets you choose.
