How it works

1. Activate Grinding Station by tapping it and sacrificing Tatterkite
2. When Tatterkite dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to its static effect.
3. When Tatterkite enters, Grinding Station enters, untapping Grinding Station.
4. Resolve the Grinding Station ability from step 1.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop turns the back face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight into an endless engine of resurrection. While Isilu grants persist to your other nontoken creatures, Tatterkite bypasses the inherent drawback of those -1/-1 counters entirely thanks to its own static protection against counters. Sacrificing Tatterkite to Grinding Station sends it to the graveyard, but its persist trigger brings it straight back to the battlefield. Because Tatterkite's return counts as an artifact entering the battlefield, it untaps Grinding Station, allowing you to mill an opponent's entire library through an endless cycle of sacrifice and rebirth.
