How it works

  1. Activate Grinding Station by tapping it and sacrificing Arcbound Fiend.
  2. When Arcbound Fiend dies, its modular ability and persist ability trigger.
  3. Resolve the modular trigger, putting Arcbound Fiend's +1/+1 counters on another artifact creature.
  4. Resolve the persist trigger, returning Arcbound Fiend from your graveyard to the battlefield. It will not have a -1/-1 counter on it due to its modular ability.
  5. When Arcbound Fiend enters, Grinding Station triggers, untapping Grinding Station.
  6. Resolve the Grinding Station ability from step 1.
  7. Repeat.
