How it works

1. Cast Chain of Acid by paying 3, targeting an indestructible noncreature permanent you control.
2. Silverquill Apprentice triggers, giving a creature you control +1/+0 until end of turn.
3. Resolve Chain of Acid, destroying nothing and causing you to copy Chain of Acid, targeting an indestructible noncreature permanent you control.
4. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop turns Chain of Acid's cyclical targeting against itself by pointing it at an indestructible permanent you control, ensuring the spell never successfully destroys its target while still allowing you to feed its echoing copies back to yourself.
