How it works

1. Cast Cloudshift by paying its mana cost, blinking Abdel Adrian.
2. Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, returning Skullwinder and all other cards that were exiled with it to the battlefield.
3. Abdel Adrian and Skullwinder trigger.
4. Resolve the Skullwinder trigger, returning Cloudshift from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Holding priority, activate any number of nonland permanents you control by tapping them, adding at least enough mana to cast Cloudshift.
6. Resolve the Abdel Adrian trigger, exiling Skullwinder and the mana-producing permanents until Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, and creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token for each permanent exiled this way.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward into an engine of endless iteration by using Cloudshift to repeatedly reset his enter-the-battlefield trigger. Each time Abdel re-enters, he swallows up your other permanents—including Skullwinder—which ensures you can use Skullwinder's graveyard recursion to pluck Cloudshift right back out of your graveyard. While those pieces keep the chain moving, Abdel's ability also floods the board with a growing army of 1/1 Soldier tokens and gives you endless opportunities to tap your other permanents for mana in between blinks.
