How it works

1. Cast Flicker by paying its mana cost, blinking Abdel Adrian.
2. Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, returning Returned Pastcaller and all other cards that were exiled with it to the battlefield.
3. Abdel Adrian and Returned Pastcaller trigger.
4. Resolve the Returned Pastcaller trigger, returning Flicker from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Holding priority, activate any number of nonland permanents you control by tapping them, adding at least enough mana to cast Flicker.
6. Resolve the Abdel Adrian trigger, exiling Returned Pastcaller and the mana-producing permanents until Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, and creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token for each permanent exiled this way.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop revolves around Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward acting as both the exile engine and the token producer, continuously cycling in and out of the battlefield to fuel your strategy. By casting Flicker, you blink Abdel Adrian, triggering its entry ability to swallow up other permanents while simultaneously bringing back Returned Pastcaller. Returned Pastcaller then does its crucial work from the graveyard, plucking Flicker right back to your hand so the cycle can begin anew.
