How it works

1. Cast Splash Portal by paying its mana cost, blinking Abdel Adrian.
2. Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, returning Returned Pastcaller and all other cards that were exiled with it to the battlefield.
3. Abdel Adrian and Returned Pastcaller trigger.
4. Resolve the Returned Pastcaller trigger, returning Splash Portal from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Holding priority, activate any number of nonland permanents you control by tapping them, adding at least enough mana to cast Splash Portal.
6. Resolve the Abdel Adrian trigger, exiling Returned Pastcaller and the mana-producing permanents until Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, and creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token for each permanent exiled this way.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a simple blink spell into an unstoppable engine by exploiting the recursive power of Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward and Returned Pastcaller. Every time Splash Portal flickers Abdel Adrian, the resulting cascade of enter-the-battlefield triggers lets Returned Pastcaller fish the spell back out of your graveyard while Abdel temporarily banishes your mana-producing permanents and racks up an endless army of Soldier tokens. Because Returned Pastcaller can continuously retrieve Splash Portal from the graveyard, you have all the fuel you need to keep repeating the cycle as long as you can recast the spell with your temporarily exiled resources.
