How it works

  1. Cast Blur by paying its mana cost, blinking Abdel Adrian.
  2. Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, returning Ardent Elementalist and all other cards that were exiled with it to the battlefield.
  3. Abdel Adrian and Ardent Elementalist trigger.
  4. Resolve the Ardent Elementalist trigger, returning Blur from your graveyard to your hand.
  5. Holding priority, activate any number of nonland permanents you control by tapping them, adding at least enough mana to cast Blur.
  6. Resolve the Abdel Adrian trigger, exiling Ardent Elementalist and the mana-producing permanents until Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, and creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token for each permanent exiled this way.
  7. Repeat.

This looping engine relies on Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward to repeatedly cycle through the battlefield, taking your other permanents along for the ride and leaving behind an army of Soldier tokens. When Abdel Adrian blinks via Blur, it temporarily leaves the battlefield to bring back Ardent Elementalist, whose entry trigger neatly scoops Blur right back out of your graveyard to hand. Because Abdel Adrian's exile ability catches your mana-producing permanents too, you can tap them for resources before they vanish, fueling the next casting of Blur while netting card draw along the way.
