How it works

1. Activate Ashnod's Altar by sacrificing Abdel Adrian, adding CC.
2. Choose to have Abdel Adrian returned to the command zone from your graveyard.
3. Hellkite Courser returns to the battlefield from exile, triggering itself, putting Abdel Adrain from the command zone onto the battlefield.
4. Abdel Adrian enters the battlefield, exiling Hellkite Courser and creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token.
5. Repeat.

This elegant engine turns Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward into a self-sustaining loop by leveraging Hellkite Courser to continually cheat him out of the command zone. When you sacrifice Abdel Adrian to Ashnod's Altar, you generate the raw mana needed to recast him while sending him back to the command zone instead of the graveyard. Meanwhile, the momentary absence of Abdel Adrian releases Hellkite Courser from exile, whose entrance trigger immediately plucks your commander back onto the battlefield. As Abdel Adrian re-enters, he swallows Hellkite Courser back up while spitting out a 1/1 Soldier token, ready for Ashnod's Altar to sacrifice the whole cycle over again for infinite mana, tokens, and triggers.
