How it works

1. Cast Scrollshift by paying its mana cost, blinking Abdel Adrian.
2. Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, returning Ardent Elementalist and all other cards that were exiled with it to the battlefield.
3. Abdel Adrian and Ardent Elementalist trigger.
4. Resolve the Ardent Elementalist trigger, returning Scrollshift from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Holding priority, activate any number of nonland permanents you control by tapping them, adding at least enough mana to cast Scrollshift.
6. Resolve the Abdel Adrian trigger, exiling Ardent Elementalist and the mana-producing permanents until Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, and creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token for each permanent exiled this way.
7. Repeat.

This loop thrives on an infinite recursive relay between Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward and Scrollshift, where each flicker resets the board to feed your engine. By casting Scrollshift to exile and immediately return Abdel Adrian, you trigger his ability to swallow up other nonland permanents—including the helpful Ardent Elementalist. When Ardent Elementalist re-enters alongside him, its trigger plucks Scrollshift right back out of your graveyard and into your hand, ready to restart the cycle while also letting you cantrip through your deck. Meanwhile, Abdel Adrian's entrance generates a growing army of 1/1 Soldier creature tokens to overwhelm your opponents.
