How it works

1. Cast Scrollshift by paying its mana cost, blinking Abdel Adrian.
2. Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, returning Scrivener and all other cards that were exiled with it to the battlefield.
3. Abdel Adrian and Scrivener trigger.
4. Resolve the Scrivener trigger, returning Scrollshift from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Holding priority, activate any number of nonland permanents you control by tapping them, adding at least enough mana to cast Scrollshift.
6. Resolve the Abdel Adrian trigger, exiling Scrivener and the mana-producing permanents until Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, and creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token for each permanent exiled this way.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a simple blink spell into an unstoppable engine by exploiting Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward and his ability to swallow your own board. Each time Scrollshift flickers Abdel Adrian, he resets and exiles your other permanents—including Scrivener, which obligingly returns Scrollshift right back to your hand from the graveyard. Because Scrivener and your mana sources are continuously recycled through exile and back to the battlefield, you can tap those permanents for mana before Abdel Adrian sweeps them up again, netting endless card draw, storm count, and an infinite army of Soldier tokens.
