How it works

1. Cast Flicker of Fate by paying its mana cost, blinking Abdel Adrian.
2. Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, returning Scrivener and all other cards that were exiled with it to the battlefield.
3. Abdel Adrian and Scrivener trigger.
4. Resolve the Scrivener trigger, returning Flicker of Fate from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Holding priority, activate any number of nonland permanents you control by tapping them, adding at least enough mana to cast Flicker of Fate.
6. Resolve the Abdel Adrian trigger, exiling Scrivener and the mana-producing permanents until Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, and creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token for each permanent exiled this way.
7. Repeat.

This elegant loop transforms a single flicker into an engine of endless value. By casting Flicker of Fate on Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward, you trigger his exile ability to sweep up Scrivener alongside your mana-producing permanents, which simultaneously floods the board with a growing army of 1/1 Soldier tokens. When Scrivener returns to the battlefield, its enters-the-battlefield ability reaches into your graveyard to hand Flicker of Fate right back to you, ready to restart the cycle.
