How it works
- Cast Splash Portal by paying its mana cost, blinking Abdel Adrian.
- Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, returning Donnie & April and all other cards that were exiled with it to the battlefield.
- Abdel Adrian and Donnie & April trigger.
- Resolve the Donnie & April trigger, returning Splash Portal from your graveyard to your hand.
- Holding priority, activate any number of nonland permanents you control by tapping them, adding at least enough mana to cast Splash Portal.
- Resolve the Abdel Adrian trigger, exiling Donnie & April and the mana-producing permanents until Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, and creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token for each permanent exiled this way.
- Repeat.
This loop is a masterclass in recursive blinking, centered entirely around Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward and his ability to swallow your own board and spit out an army of Soldier tokens upon entering. By casting Splash Portal to exile and instantly return Abdel Adrian, you reset his exile trigger and immediately bring back Donnie & April, Adorkable Duo. Their enter-the-battlefield ability then targets you to pull Splash Portal right back out of your graveyard and into your hand. Because Abdel Adrian's static-style exile effect also sweeps up your mana-producing permanents along the way, you can tap them for mana before they vanish to pay for the next casting of Splash Portal, turning an ordinary blink spell into an unstoppable engine of infinite value.
