How it works

1. Cast Scrollshift by paying its mana cost, blinking Abdel Adrian.
2. Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, returning Scholar of the Ages and all other cards that were exiled with it to the battlefield.
3. Abdel Adrian and Scholar of the Ages trigger.
4. Resolve the Scholar of the Ages trigger, returning Scrollshift from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Holding priority, activate any number of nonland permanents you control by tapping them, adding at least enough mana to cast Scrollshift.
6. Resolve the Abdel Adrian trigger, exiling Scholar of the Ages and the mana-producing permanents until Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, and creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token for each permanent exiled this way.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns a simple blink spell into an endless engine of recursion and token generation. By targeting Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward with Scrollshift, you force him to leave and re-enter the battlefield, which constantly resets his exile trigger to swallow up your mana sources alongside Scholar of the Ages. Whenever Scholar of the Ages returns, its enter-the-battlefield ability loops Scrollshift right back to your hand, while the cycle itself draws you a card on every iteration to dig through your entire deck.
