How it works

1. Cast Cloudshift by paying its mana cost, blinking Abdel Adrian.
2. Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, returning Scholar of the Ages and all other cards that were exiled with it to the battlefield.
3. Abdel Adrian and Scholar of the Ages trigger.
4. Resolve the Scholar of the Ages trigger, returning Cloudshift from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Holding priority, activate any number of nonland permanents you control by tapping them, adding at least enough mana to cast Cloudshift.
6. Resolve the Abdel Adrian trigger, exiling Scholar of the Ages and the mana-producing permanents until Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, and creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token for each permanent exiled this way.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward into an infinite engine by using Cloudshift to continually reset his enter-the-battlefield trigger. Each time Abdel Adrian blinks back in alongside Scholar of the Ages, the Scholar's own entry trigger ensures Cloudshift is immediately retrieved from your graveyard to hand. This cycle allows you to repeatedly exile and return your mana-producing permanents and Scholar of the Ages, generating an endless tide of Soldier tokens and massive storm counts while keeping your entire instant and sorcery arsenal readily available.
