How it works

1. Cast Displace by paying its mana cost, blinking Abdel Adrian.
2. Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, returning Scholar of the Ages and all other cards that were exiled with it to the battlefield.
3. Abdel Adrian and Scholar of the Ages trigger.
4. Resolve the Scholar of the Ages trigger, returning Displace from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Holding priority, activate any number of nonland permanents you control by tapping them, adding at least enough mana to cast Displace.
6. Resolve the Abdel Adrian trigger, exiling Scholar of the Ages and the mana-producing permanents until Abdel Adrian leaves the battlefield, and creating a 1/1 Soldier creature token for each permanent exiled this way.
7. Repeat.

This elegant loop turns the blink power of Displace into a self-sustaining engine by exploiting Abdel Adrian, Gorion's Ward's enter-the-battlefield trigger. Each time Abdel Adrian is blinked, he temporarily exiles your mana-producing permanents along with Scholar of the Ages, leaving you a fresh crop of Soldier tokens while Scholar of the Ages conveniently fishes Displace right back out of your graveyard. By tapping your permanents for mana while the Abdel Adrian trigger is on the stack, you fully fund the next casting of Displace, allowing you to repeat the cycle indefinitely.
