How it works

1. Cast Phyrexian Metamorph by paying its mana cost. Choose to have it enter the battlefield as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up.
2. Put Phyrexian Metamorph into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
3. Phyrexian Metamorph's first ability and second ability trigger, along with Rakdos Joins Up's second ability.
4. Resolve Phyrexian Metamorph's second trigger and Rakdos Joins Up's trigger, dealing damage to target opponent.
5. Resolve Phyrexian Metamorph's first trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters on it as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up.
6. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop centers on the interaction between an original Rakdos Joins Up and a clever clone. By casting Phyrexian Metamorph and choosing to have it enter as a copy of Rakdos Joins Up, state-based actions immediately send one to the graveyard due to the legend rule. However, that very trip to the graveyard triggers the surviving copy's ability to pull Phyrexian Metamorph right back onto the battlefield, letting you repeat the process to continuously deal damage. Meanwhile, Starfield of Nyx sits quietly in the background, anchoring your enchantment synergies and ready to pull either piece back from the graveyard if the loop is ever disrupted.
