How it works
- Deal combat damage using Obeka, triggering its ability, causing you to get at least four extra upkeep steps.
- At the beginning of your upkeep, Smaug triggers, creating a Treasure token.
- Repeat step 2 during each other extra upkeep step, creating at least four additional Treasures.
- During your postcombat main phase, activate five Treasures by tapping and sacrificing them, adding 3.
- Activate Aggravated Assault by paying 3, causing you to untap all creatures you control and get an additional combat and main phase after this one.
- Repeat.
This explosive loop starts when Obeka, Splitter of Seconds connects in combat to generate a flurry of additional upkeep steps, turning a single turn into an engine of escalating value. Each of those chained upkeeps coaxes Smaug the Magnificent into continuously minting fresh Treasure tokens. Once you have accumulated enough of this metallic wealth, you cash them in during your main phase to fund Aggravated Assault, which untaps your entire board and grants you an extra combat phase to do it all over again.
