How it works

  1. Declare Sun Warriors as an attacker, triggering its ability, adding an amount of R mana equal to the number of creatures you control.
  2. Move to your postcombat main phase. You will not lose the mana due to Upwelling.
  3. Activate Aggravated Assault by paying 3R manaR mana, causing you to untap all creatures you control and to get an additional combat and main phase after this one.
  4. Repeat.

This explosive engine hinges on Sun Warriors and Aggravated Assault creating a relentless loop of extra combats, where the Sun Warriors' Firebending ability generates an influx of red mana every time it charges into battle. Since Aggravated Assault demands a hefty investment of {3}{R}{R} to untap your board and grant those extra phases, Sun Warriors' scaling mana production—which grows as you spend its mana to pump out 1/1 white Ally creature tokens using its own activated ability—foots the bill effortlessly. Meanwhile, Upwelling serves as the quiet linchpin of the entire operation, preserving your floating red mana across steps and phases so it doesn't evaporate before you can pour it into Aggravated Assault.
