How it works

1. Cast the artifact by paying 0.
2. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers, earthbending Izzet Boilerworks.
3. Resolve the artifact spell.
4. Activate Goblin Bombardment by sacrificing Izzet Boilerworks.
5. When Izzet Boilerworks dies, Toph, Hardheaded Teach triggers, returning Izzet Boilerworks from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
6. When Izzet Boilerworks enters, it triggers, returning the artifact cast in step 1 from the battlefield to your hand, as it's a land due to Toph, the First Metalbender.
7. Resolve the Goblin Bombardment ability
8. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns your bounce lands into a self-sustaining engine by letting Toph, the First Metalbender redefine the rules of the battlefield. Because Toph, the First Metalbender turns your nontoken artifacts into lands, playing a zero-mana artifact lets Izzet Boilerworks treat it as a land to bounce back to your hand every time the Boilerworks enters. Meanwhile, Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers its earthbend ability whenever you cast a spell and safely returns Izzet Boilerworks to the battlefield tapped whenever that land dies. Feeding the animated land into Goblin Bombardment triggers its return to the graveyard, letting you repeat the whole cycle to deal infinite damage and rack up endless triggers.
