How it works

1. Cast Cubwarden for its mutate cost by paying .
2. Animar triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on itself.
3. Resolve Cubwarden, targeting a non-Human creature you control.
4. The Cubwarden mutated creature triggers, creating two 1/1 Cat creature tokens.
5. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the Cubwarden mutated creature, adding .
6. When the Cubwarden mutated creature dies, Enduring Renewal triggers, returning Cubwarden and any cards merged with it from your graveyard to your hand.
7. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing a Cat token, adding .

Meanwhile, Animar, Soul of Elements acts as a crucial cost reducer as it accumulates +1/+1 counters each time you cast a creature spell, eventually making it completely free to replay Cubwarden over and over again.
