How it works

1. Activate Thermopod by sacrificing Cultivator of Blades.
2. When Cultivator of Blades dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Cultivator of Blades enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on Isilu, Carrier of Twilight's passive ability—the transformed back face of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn—to grant persist to your nontoken creatures, allowing Cultivator of Blades to return from the dead with a -1/-1 counter whenever it hits the graveyard. As Cultivator of Blades repeatedly enters the battlefield, its fabricate 2 ability triggers, placing a +1/+1 counter that immediately neutralizes the existing -1/-1 counter through state-based actions so the cycle can continue indefinitely. Meanwhile, Thermopod serves as the engine's core sacrifice outlet, turning every iteration of this resurrection loop into a steady stream of red mana.
