How it works

1. Activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing Cultivator of Blades.
2. When Cultivator of Blades dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Cultivator of Blades enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Resolve the Umbral Collar Zealot ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop uses the dual-faced nature of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight to grant persistent immortality to your team through its Isilu backside, transforming your creatures into a self-sustaining engine. When you sacrifice Cultivator of Blades to Umbral Collar Zealot's activation, Isilu's granted persist ability brings the Cultivator right back with a -1/-1 counter. However, Cultivator of Blades's own fabricate ability immediately triggers upon re-entering the battlefield, placing a +1/+1 counter that neatly cancels out the -1/-1 counter as a state-based action. This leaves the Cultivator fresh and ready to be fed back into Umbral Collar Zealot all over again, generating an endless cascade of sacrifices and surveils.
