How it works

1. Activate Skirk Prospector by sacrificing it.
2. When Skirk Prospector dies, Mortuary and Zulaport Cutthroat trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Skirk Prospector from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Zulaport Cutthroat trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and each opponent to lose 1 life.
5. Cast Skirk Prospector from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop turns your own library into an infinite recycling bin for Goblins, fueled entirely by life rather than mana. By using Bolas's Citadel, you can cast Skirk Prospector directly off the top of your library for a mere single life point instead of its usual cost. When you sacrifice that Skirk Prospector to its own ability for red mana, Mortuary instantly catches it on the way to the graveyard and places it right back on top of your library. Meanwhile, Zulaport Cutthroat oversees the whole grisly operation, draining your opponents' life totals and padding yours with every single repetition to easily offset the life you spent casting the spell.
