How it works

1. Activate Skirk Prospector by sacrificing it.
2. When Skirk Prospector dies, Mortuary and Vengeful Bloodwitch trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Skirk Prospector from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Vengeful Bloodwitch trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and target opponent to lose 1 life.
5. Cast Skirk Prospector from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop uses Mortuary as the engine to recycle Skirk Prospector back to the top of your library every time it meets its demise. Because Skirk Prospector sacrifices itself to generate red mana, you trigger a continuous cycle of sacrifice and rebirth that Vengeful Bloodwitch happily turns into a lethal drain on your opponents' life totals. Normally casting it from the library would cost precious resources, but Gwenom, Remorseless provides the crucial alternative cost payment by letting you spend life instead of mana—a cost easily offset by the life gained from Vengeful Bloodwitch with every iteration.
