How it works

1. Activate Skirk Prospector by sacrificing it.
2. When Skirk Prospector dies, Mortuary and Dross Harvester trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Skirk Prospector from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Dross Harvester trigger, causing you to gain 2 life.
5. Cast Skirk Prospector from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop is anchored by Bolas's Citadel, which turns the top of your library into a hand while replacing mana costs with life payments. To fuel this, Skirk Prospector provides a self-sacrificing engine that generates red mana while triggering Mortuary, which immediately places the sacrificed Goblin right back onto the top of your library. Meanwhile, Dross Harvester offsets the life costs of Bolas's Citadel by granting life whenever a creature dies, creating a self-sustaining cycle of sacrifice, mana production, and life recovery.
