The Legend of Kuruk // Avatar Kuruk + Spark Double + Thassa, Deep-Dwelling
How it works
- Activate Spark Double using Avatar Kuruk's ability by paying 20 minus 1 for each creature and/or artifact you can tap while activating it, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
- At the beginning of your end step, Thassa triggers, blinking Spark Double. Choose to have it enter the battlefield as a copy of Avatar Kuruk.
- Repeat each turn.
This mesmerizing loop leverages the unique back-face of The Legend of Kuruk // Avatar Kuruk to fuel a permanent time-warp engine. By casting or copying Avatar Kuruk, its formidable Exhaust ability becomes accessible, but we need a way to reset it; that is where Spark Double comes in, entering as a non-legendary copy of the Avatar so it can safely coexist on the battlefield. Thassa, Deep-Dwelling then steps in at the beginning of each end step to blink Spark Double, causing it to re-enter as a fresh copy of Avatar Kuruk and wiping away any record of the previous turn's Exhaust activation. This allows you to tap your artifacts and creatures to pay the Waterbend cost, take infinite extra turns, and lock your opponents out of the game entirely.
