How it works

  1. Activate Anzrag by paying 3R manaR manaG manaG mana, causing opponents to block Anzrag if able this turn.
  2. Cast Obscuring Haze by paying 0 if you control a commander, or 2G mana otherwise, preventing all combat damage that would be dealt by opposing creatures this turn.
  3. Declare Anzrag as an attacker, attacking any opponent.
  4. If the opponent does not control a creature, activate Forbidden Orchard by tapping it, adding one mana of any color.
  5. If Forbidden Orchard was activated, it triggers, causing the defending opponent to create a 1/1 Spirit creature token.
  6. If Forbidden Orchard was activated, activate Blossom Dryad by tapping it, untapping Forbidden Orchard.
  7. The opponent is forced to block Anzrag, triggering Anzrag, untapping all creatures you control and causing you to get an additional combat phase after this one.
  8. Any combat damage that would be dealt to Anzrag is prevented by Obscuring Haze.
  9. Repeat from step 3 each combat phase.

This loop turns Anzrag, the Quake-Mole into an unstoppable, damage-proof engine by forcing your opponents to block him every combat while Obscuring Haze blanks all incoming combat damage so your terrifying mole lives through the onslaught. To ensure there is always a legal blocker available even if the board is otherwise empty, Forbidden Orchard conveniently conjures up a 1/1 Spirit token for your opponent whenever it's tapped for mana. Blossom Dryad then untaps that very same land so you can keep looping your plays, while Anzrag's own triggered ability untaps each creature you control—including the Dryad—whenever he becomes blocked, immediately setting up the next endless combat phase.
