How it works

  1. Cast Seething Anger with buyback by paying R mana. Birgi, Blood Funnel and Sedgemoor Witch trigger.
  2. Resolve the Birgi trigger, adding R mana.
  3. Resolve the Sedgemoor Witch trigger, creating a 1/1 Pest creature token.
  4. Resolve the Blood Funnel trigger, causing you to sacrifice the Pest token.
  5. When the Pest dies, it triggers, causing you to gain 1 life.
  6. Resolve the Seething Anger spell.
  7. Repeat.

This crafty loop turns the normally prohibitive drawback of Blood Funnel into a deadly engine by using Memory Crystal to completely eliminate the buyback cost of Seething Anger. When you cast Seething Anger for just a single red mana, Birgi, God of Storytelling provides that mana right back, while Sedgemoor Witch continuously churns out Pest tokens via magecraft to feed Blood Funnel's sacrifice requirement. As these Pests repeatedly die, they fuel endless sacrifice and lifegain triggers while pumping your creatures to astronomical heights.
