How it works

1. Cast Haze of Rage with buyback by paying . Birgi, Haze of Rage's storm ability, Blood Funnel and Hermes trigger.
2. Resolve the Birgi trigger, adding
3. Resolve the Hermes trigger, creating a creature token.
4. Resolve the Blood Funnel trigger, causing you to sacrifice the creature token.
5. Resolve the Haze of Rage trigger, copying it for each spell cast before it this turn.
6. Resolve all Haze of Rage spells.
7. Repeat.

This spell-copying engine turns a single red mana into an infinitely large storm count by exploiting a brilliant cost reduction loophole. Thanks to Blood Funnel and Memory Crystal, casting Haze of Rage with its buyback cost becomes completely free; normally Blood Funnel would counter the spell, but Hermes, Overseer of Elpis conveniently provides the sacrificial creature token needed to pay that tax every single time. Meanwhile, Birgi, God of Storytelling feeds the loop by refunding the red mana needed to initiate the cast, letting you continually loop Haze of Rage right back into your hand to pump your team and drive the storm count sky-high.
