How it works

1. Cast Dargo from the command zone by paying .
2. Birgi triggers, adding .
3. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Dargo.
4. Choose to return Dargo to the command zone from your graveyard.
5. Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
6. Repeat.

This ingenious loop relies on Dargo, the Shipwrecker's remarkably flexible casting cost, which can be entirely discounted by previous sacrifices to cost a mere {R} from the command zone. When you cast Dargo, Birgi, God of Storytelling triggers to refund that exact red mana, fueling the entire engine continuously without draining your reserves. Meanwhile, Bartolomé del Presidio acts as the sacrificial altar that sends Dargo straight back to the command zone, growing steadily larger with endless +1/+1 counters for every iteration.
