How it works

  1. Activate Cormela by paying 1 and tapping it, adding U manaB manaR mana that can only be spent to cast instant and/or sorcery spells.
  2. Cast Heat Shimmer by paying 2R mana.
  3. Birgi triggers, adding R mana.
  4. Resolve Heat Shimmer, creating a token copy of Cormela.
  5. Put the tapped Cormela into your graveyard due to the legend rule.
  6. Cormela dies, triggering itself, returning Heat Shimmer from your graveyard to your hand.
  7. Repeat.
