How it works

1. Cast Sensei's Divining Top by paying 1.
2. Birgi triggers, adding .
3. When Sensei's Divining Top enters, Fateful Discovery triggers.
4. Holding priority, activate Sensei's Divining Top by tapping it, causing you to draw a card and put Sensei's Divining Top on top of your library.
5. Resolve the Fateful Discovery trigger, causing you to draw Sensei's Divining Top from your library.
6. Repeat

This clever loop turns the unassuming Sensei's Divining Top into an endless engine of card advantage by stacking its own replacement effect against its entry triggers. As you repeatedly cast the artifact, Birgi, God of Storytelling provides the crucial red mana needed to recast it each iteration, while Fateful Discovery acts as the draw trigger that plucks the Top right back out of your library in response to itself. Because Sensei's Divining Top can tuck itself away to draw a card, you can respond to the enter-the-battlefield trigger by tapping it, allowing Fateful Discovery to draw it straight from your library and back to your hand for just one mana.
