How it works

1. Activate Kenrith's fifth ability by paying 4, returning Deep Forest Hermit to the battlefield from your graveyard.
2. When Deep Forest Hermit enters the battlefield, it triggers, creating four 1/1 Squirrel creature tokens.
3. Activate Phyrexian Altar five times by sacrificing Deep Forest Hermit and the four Squirrel tokens, adding 4.
4. Repeat.

This ingenious loop turns Kenrith, the Returned King into a necromantic engine by using the mana generated from Phyrexian Altar to fund his black reanimation ability. When you cast or recur Deep Forest Hermit, its vanishing mechanic is neatly bypassed because the Hermit and its four squirrel tokens are immediately fed to the Altar for five mana. Deep Forest Hermit's static lord effect even boosts the tokens while they wait to be sacrificed, ensuring you always have enough fodder to keep the cycle going and generate endless entry, death, and sacrifice triggers.
