How it works
- Activate Survey Mechan by sacrificing it.
- When Survey Mechan dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Survey Mechan from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
- Desecrated Tomb triggers, creating two creature tokens.
- Resolve the Survey Mechan ability, dealing 3 damage to any target and causing you to draw three cards and gain 3 life.
- Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing the two creature tokens, adding CCCC.
- Cast Survey Mechan by paying 4.
- Repeat.
This intricate loop hinges on Ashnod's Altar providing the mana needed to recast Survey Mechan, which conveniently self-sacrifices to trigger the entire engine. As Survey Mechan dies, Mortuary immediately places it back on top of your library so you can draw it again, while Desecrated Tomb triggers whenever that creature card leaves your graveyard. Because Parallel Lives doubles the resulting tokens, sacrificing them to Ashnod's Altar yields more than enough mana to loop the process indefinitely for infinite damage, card draw, and life.
