How it works

1. Activate Survey Mechan by sacrificing it.
2. When Survey Mechan dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Survey Mechan from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Desecrated Tomb triggers, creating two creature tokens.
4. Resolve the Survey Mechan ability, dealing 3 damage to any target and causing you to draw three cards and gain 3 life.
5. Activate Ashnod's Altar twice by sacrificing the two creature tokens, adding CCCC.
6. Cast Survey Mechan by paying 4.
7. Repeat.

This ingenious loop relies on turning a hefty activation cost into a self-sustaining engine, with Survey Mechan serving as both the sacrificial spark and the ultimate win condition. When you sacrifice the mechan, Mortuary immediately intercepts it on the way to the graveyard, placing it right back on top of your library for easy re-casting, while Desecrated Tomb spots those cards leaving the graveyard to trigger the creation of a Bat token. That is where Chatterfang, Squirrel General steps in to double your production by generating a matching army of Squirrel tokens alongside the Bats, fueling Ashnod's Altar for the generic mana needed to recast the mechan. By looping this sequence, you continuously draw your deck, churn through your life total, and blast any target for near-infinite damage.
