How it works

1. Play Glacial Chasm either from your hand or from your graveyard.
2. When Glacial Chasm enters the battlefield, its second ability triggers, causing you to sacrifice another land you control.
3. Play any land from your graveyard.
4. At the beginning of your next upkeep, Glacial Chasm's cumulative upkeep ability triggers, allowing you to choose not to pay the cost and sacrifice it instead.
5. Repeat.

This brilliant defensive lock turns Glacial Chasm into a revolving shield by repeatedly playing and sacrificing it before its cumulative upkeep cost becomes unmanageable. Exploration provides the extra land drop needed each turn to keep the cycle moving, while Walk-In Closet // Forgotten Cellar ensures you can continuously play Glacial Chasm right back out of your graveyard. Because Glacial Chasm enters the battlefield fresh each time, it resets its age counters and lets you sacrifice a fresh land to its enter-the-battlefield trigger instead of succumbing to mounting life payments, keeping you entirely immune to damage indefinitely.
