How it works

1. Activate Famished Paladin using Kwain's ability by tapping it, causing you to draw a card and gain 1 life, and allowing each opponent to do the same.
2. Famished Paladin triggers, untapping itself.
3. Repeat.

By feeding Famished Paladin the activated ability of Kwain, Itinerant Meddler via Agatha's Soul Cauldron, we turn the paladin into a self-contained engine that loops infinitely. The Cauldron not only grants the tap ability to the creature, but also places the necessary +1/+1 counter to enable it while simultaneously solving any color restrictions on activation costs. Every time Famished Paladin taps to draw a card and gain life, the resulting lifegain triggers its own untap ability, allowing you to repeat the process until the table is overwhelmed with card draw and life.
