How it works

1. Activate Splintering Wind by paying , dealing 1 damage to target creature and creating a 1/1 Splinter creature token.
2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the Splinter, adding .
3. When the Splinter dies, it triggers, dealing no damage to you or creatures you control due to Blessed Sanctuary.
4. Repeat.

This clever loop turns Splintering Wind into a lethal engine by heavily discounting its activation cost with Zirda, the Dawnwaker, reducing the ability's mana requirement down to just a single green mana. When you activate the enchantment to ping a creature and spawn a 1/1 Splinter token, you can immediately feed that token to Phyrexian Altar to generate the exact {G} needed to keep the cycle going. Normally, the Splinter's departure would punish you with life and board damage, but Blessed Sanctuary completely blankets you and your creatures from that noncombat damage. Together, these pieces forge a seamless engine that can endlessly churn through sacrifices while systematically wiping out every creature your opponents control.
