How it works

1. Activate Yahenni by sacrificing Persistent Constrictor.
2. When Persistent Constrictor dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. Hardened Academic triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Persistent Constrictor.
4. Resolve the Yahenni ability.
5. Repeat.

This loop turns your graveyard into an engine by pairing Yahenni, Undying Partisan as the sacrifice outlet with Persistent Constrictor's persist ability to continually recur it. Each time the Constrictor returns from the graveyard, Hardened Academic's trigger places a +1/+1 counter on it, which immediately neutralizes its incoming -1/-1 counter through state-based actions. This counter-cancellation keeps the persist safety net perpetually ready, letting you sacrifice the Constrictor over and over again to rack up infinite deaths, enter-the-battlefield triggers, and a massively growing Yahenni.
