How it works

1. Cast Faceless Butcher by paying its mana cost.
2. When Faceless Butcher enters, its first ability triggers, exiling Metamorphosis Fanatic.
3. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Faceless Butcher.
4. When Faceless Butcher dies, its second ability triggers, returning Metamorphosis Fanatic from exile to the battlefield.
5. When Metamorphosis Fanatic enters, it triggers, returning Faceless Butcher from your graveyard to the battlefield.
6. When Faceless Butcher enters, its first ability triggers, exiling Metamorphosis Fanatic.
7. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability.
8. Repeat from step 3.

This ingenious loop uses Altar of Dementia as a lethal mill engine by endlessly recycling a self-sustaining creature chain. When you cast Faceless Butcher, it enters and exiles Metamorphosis Fanatic, which can then be sacrificed to Altar of Dementia along with the Butcher to keep the cycle going. However, the true brilliance lies in Metamorphosis Fanatic's entry trigger, which immediately plucks Faceless Butcher right back out of the graveyard to restart the exile-and-return loop. By continuously looping these two creatures through the battlefield and the graveyard, you generate infinite sacrifices and put your opponents straight into the dirt.
