How it works

1. Cast Rograkh either from your hand or from the command zone by paying 0 plus commander tax, if applicable.
2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Rograkh, adding 1.
3. When Rograkh dies, Decaying Soil triggers, causing you to pay 1 to return Rograkh to your hand from your graveyard.
4. Repeat.

This loop relies on the zero-mana casting cost of Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh to keep the cycle entirely self-sustaining. Once you've achieved threshold, Decaying Soil grants the crucial triggered ability that lets you buy Rograkh back to your hand for a single mana whenever it dies. You then feed that same commander directly into Phyrexian Altar, sacrificing it to generate the exact {1} mana needed to pay Decaying Soil's trigger, while also netting infinite storm count, sacrifice triggers, and death triggers in the process.
