How it works

  1. Gain life.
  2. Scurry Oak triggers, putting a +1+1 counter on itself.
  3. Scurry Oak triggers, creating a creature token and an artifact token.
  4. When the artifact token enters the battlefield, Arbaaz Mir triggers, dealing 1 damage to each opponent and causing you to gain 1 life.
  5. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop begins the moment you trigger any lifegain while Sunbond enchants Scurry Oak, pumping up its power and toughness to awaken its evolve-style trigger. Every time a +1/+1 counter lands on Scurry Oak, it churns out a Squirrel token, which in turn causes Peregrin Took's replacement effect to sweeten the deal by dropping an extra Food token alongside it. Meanwhile, Arbaaz Mir keeps the engine humming by weaponizing every single nontoken historic permanent's entry to drain your opponents and feed you fresh life, which continuously re-triggers Sunbond to keep the counter train rolling. Once your board is flooded with endless tokens and counters, Peregrin Took's built-in ability lets you sacrifice those amassed Foods to draw your entire deck.
