How it works
- Gain life.
- Basking Broodscale triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on itself.
- Basking Broodscale triggers, creating a creature token.
- When the creature token enters the battlefield, Answered Prayers triggers, causing you to gain 1 life.
- Repeat from step 2.
This elegant loop turns a single instance of lifegain into a self-sustaining engine by exploiting the synergy between Sunbond and Basking Broodscale. Once you trigger the enchantment, the +1/+1 counters placed on Basking Broodscale instantly spawn an Eldrazi Spawn token, which in turn triggers Answered Prayers to gain you life and re-prime Sunbond all over again. By sacrificing the token for colorless mana, you can also fuel other spells while generating an endless army of tokens and infinite counters.
